Bringing Sight to the Unseen
What does this mean?
In traditional Western medicine, there are many who go unseen.
They’re the people with the uncommon conditions, with the complaints that are hard to describe and even harder to connect. They’re the ones who don’t fit neatly into the boxes – of society or healthcare. The ones who slip through the cracks.
The ones who aren’t seen.
As such, the first step in bringing sight is to see, or to make visible. At Renewal, we’re not in a rush to get you out the door. We want to see you, for you. We want to hear your history, to listen to your concerns – even if they don’t feel related to your eyes – and to learn what’s important to you.
From there, we seek to bring sight. Sometimes, that’s through a typical eye exam and glasses or contacts. More commonly though, we focus on the other aspects of vision that often go unseen in the average eye exam.
Enhancing Lives by Optimizing Vision
Vision is more than 20/20. In fact, the American Academy of Optometry points to five additional components of vision: accommodation, vergence, oculomotor, visual motor, and visual perception. At Renewal, we evaluate, and then work to optimize – through vision therapy, specialized glasses, and contacts – all six aspects of vision.
