Dr. Hannah Vollmer, the owner and founder of Renewal Optometry, LLC, received her undergraduate degree (BS) in Biology at Trine University, and then went on to obtain her Doctorate of Optometry (OD) at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. After graduation, she completed a residency at University of Houston College of Optometry, specializing in Brain Injury Vision Rehabilitation.
Bringing Sight to the Unseen has always been Dr. Vollmer’s mission. In optometry school, she loved working with individuals with low vision at Ohio State Optometry’s Low Vision Clinic and The Ohio State School for the Blind, as well as those who had sustained traumatic brain injuries, through Ohio State Optometry’s Vision Therapy Clinic. In residency, she was part of the SNAPs clinic (Special Needs, Adults and Peds), where she saw individuals of all ages with various special needs. She also worked with the in-patient brain injury population at Houston’s TIRR and Methodist Hospitals, seeing individuals with traumatic and acquired (stroke, aneurysm, etc) brain injuries. After residency, she worked as a mobile optometrist, visiting nursing homes and long-term care facilities across North East Indiana.
Outside of the exam room, Dr. Vollmer is active in her church – serving as custodian, choir director, and organist – coaches track, and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
